        The Scholarship Fund

Our central work. Grants go to students from Sarasota and Manatee County who have earned a place at an Ivy League school and need help with the costs financial aid does not cover. Members who give $1,000 or more join the 1957 Society.

        About the fund

        Hands, not just checks

Members tutor readers in local schools, work the line at a food bank, and turn out for the organizations that make this city what it is. Every project is announced at luncheons and open to members and their guests.

        Support for the arts

We buy blocks of seats at opera, chamber music and theater nights, bring the leaders of those institutions to speak with us, and send our members home as subscribers and volunteers. Our cultural committee works year round with local partners.
